Penny Whistle Clay Dolls have been around since Indus Valley Civilisation. Toys, made from terra-cotta, excavated from the Indus Valley civilization (3010-1500 BCE) include small carts, whistles shaped like birds and many more.
 
Clay whistle dolls have travelled across the globe since and have been lovingly depicting folk-lore and culture in countries such as Russia, Peru, Bangaldesh and India. Our artist is one of the last remaining doll-maker, in India, who specialises in this ancient technology.
